Bulletin 18: Changes to the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998

Dear Members,

Recently, the Victorian Parliament passed the Liquor and Gambling Legislation Amendment Act 2018 (the LGLA Act). The LGLA Act amends the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 (LCR Act) which will mean a number of changes for you.
As of today, licensees that were previously required to maintain an RSA register are no longer required to do so, you must however continue to keep copies of current RSA certificates of all staff.
From 13 September 2018, the following changes will also come into effect;

  • the supply of liquor to minors on licensed premises will not be permitted under any circumstances, and
  • there will be new offence provisions for delivery of liquor to a minor.
