Increased cheque limits
As previously advised, the threshold for payment of (gaming machine) winnings by cheque increased from $1,000 to $2,000. This regulatory change was a result of the passing of the Gambling Regulation Amendment (Gaming Machine Arrangements) Bill.
AHA (Vic) is applying to the VCGLR to have our Code of Conduct amended to reflect the new cheque limit and will advise members in due course. Meanwhile you can continue to operate under the old code arrangements without being in breach of the Act.
Some of you may have a Gaming Conditions of Play poster displayed in your hotel. This poster is not a legislated requirement, however if you would like a copy of the wording in order to prepare an updated poster to reflect the new cheque limit please email Dimity Harris on d.harris@ahavic.com.au.
